What is a FAM trip?

A FAM (familiarization) trip is an organized tour for travel industry professionals to experience a destination, resort, or cruise line firsthand. The goal is to give travel agents the knowledge and confidence to recommend and sell the product to their clients.

Who can participate in TopFams trips?

Our FAM trips are open to licensed travel agents, travel advisors, and other qualified travel industry professionals. We vet all participants to ensure a high-quality experience for both agents and hosting partners.

How much do FAM trips cost?

FAM trip pricing varies by destination and inclusions. Many trips are heavily subsidized by hosting partners, making them significantly more affordable than retail pricing. Check individual trip listings for specific pricing details.

What is typically included in a FAM trip?

Most FAM trips include accommodations, meals, site inspections, and planned activities. Some may also include airfare or airport transfers. Each trip listing clearly outlines what is and isn’t included.

How do I sign up for a FAM trip?

What is the etiquette on a FAM?

FAM trip etiquette is important for making the most of your experience and maintaining professionalism. Always be on time for scheduled activities and meetings. Be respectful of your hosts, fellow travelers, and the local culture. Take detailed notes and ask thoughtful questions during presentations and site inspections. Capture photos and details that will help you sell the destination to your clients. Consider how each experience can benefit your specific client base. Maintain a professional demeanor throughout the trip — remember, you are representing your agency and the travel industry.

Do I need a passport?

For all trips outside the USA, a valid passport is required. Each nation has its own requirements for entry and validity of passports for foreign travelers. It is recommended that your passport has six months remaining on its validity. Passports and any needed Visas are the responsibility of each participant.

Do you provide travel visas?

TopFams does not process Travel Visas. Each nation has its own specific requirements for entry. Please consult the consulate or embassy website for the country of your itinerary to find the forms and information needed. Please note that getting a Visa may take as little as two weeks or as much as two months and plan accordingly.
